Have you asked your boss for a rise yet?

 

I´ve never asked you for anything

 

Did you ask her for her phone number?

 

Why don’t you ask the bank for a loan?

 

The policeman asked me for my driving license

 

 

 

En este ultimo  ejemplo se podría eliminar la persona a la que sele está pidiendo algo (me): The policeman asked for my driving licence.

 

 

En las siguientes frases te mostramos varios ejemplos del uso de ASK, con los pronombres personales.

 

 

Recuerda esta frase, te ayudará como punto de referencia:

ASK ME FOR IT.

NO EMPLEAMOS to ask for, al pedir servicio en un restaurante. El verbo que utilizamos en estos casos es to order. En inglés el camarero te preguntará “ Are you ready to order?, que significa ¿ Ya puedo tomar su orden?:

Si se estas preguntando cual es la diferencia entre MOVIE y FILM ¡la respuesta es ninguna!. Solo que movie se usa mas en el inglés americano y film en el inglés británico.

 

 

I can’t remember the last time I went to the theatre to see a play

 

I think the most important  thing in any film or play is the script.

 

 

Cuando hablamos de guiones de cine se emplea el termino SCREEN PLAY

 

 

Curiosamente una persona que escribe guiones para el teatro se llama playwright… y si, lo hemos deletreado bien, ¡ aunque sería mucho más lógico que se llamara playwrite o playwriter!

 

 

The quality of the acting in the movie was incredible

 

What’s the scariest scene that you’ve ever seen in a film?

 

Have you ever been on stage in a theatre?

 

 

Una buena expresión para recordar es stage fright, que significa “miedo escénico” ¡ algo que esperamos que no te pase nunca con tu inglés!

 

What’s your  favorite soundtrack?

 

I hate watching films on TV because of the adverts

 

 

 

En realidad advert es una abreviatura de advertisement, ¡ También es muy común abreviar advert a ad!  Fíjate bien como se escribe la palabra advertisement, ya que se trata de un termino que sele causar dudas ortográficas.

 

 

You should always watch English films in the original version and with subtitles, never watch them dubbed!

 

I haven´t read the reviews of that film yet.

To be keen on something                              Ser aficionado a, entusiasmarse por algo

 

 

 

He´s been very keen on gardening since he retired

 

She’s really keen on judo

 

I´m not too keen on their new album

 

 

También se puede decir to be keen to do something, que significa “ tener ganas de hacer algo”.

 

 

He´s keen to join the company and star working

 

I´m keen to hear what they have to say

 

I´m surprised he´s not here, he said he was keen to meet you.

 

 

 

OTRA EXPRESIÓN MUY UTIL EN ESTE SENTIDO, AUNQUE UN POCO MÁS INFORMAL

 

 

 

TO BE INTO SOMETHING                          Gustarle a uno algo, interesarse mucho por algo

¡ ESTUDIA ESTOS EJEMPLOS!

 

La clave para pronunciar bien es la practica. Al principio remarca el sonido de la “v”, presionando fuertemente el labio inferior sobre los dientes superiores para producir esa vibración en la garganta. Una vez que hayas identificado y asimilado bien el sonido de la “v” puedes relajar la presión de los dientes.
